SINCE 1929 IN PLAZA MAYOR
Magerit is one of the oldest restaurants in Madrid’s Plaza Mayor, founded in 1929 by Don Salustiano Nogueira. Nowadays we are the third generation of the Nogueira Noriega family who runs this restaurant in the centre of Madrid.
The chronicles of the old Madrid tell us that the place where it is currently located was an old liquor store known as Cachero. Later it was known as Bar Antillas, and was renamed Magerit in 1964.
WHERE, WHEN AND HOW
It was the first restaurant in Madrid’s Plaza Mayor that placed a terrace in this wonderful environment. Its large covered terrace with umbrellas is one of the best places to enjoy a full breakfast, delicious tapas, a meal with friends or a few beers at sunset, while contemplating the history of Madrid.
We also have a bar area and an inside lounge with views to the San Miguel market where you can sit down and taste some dishes from our extensive menu. A pincho of our famous home made tortilla, tasty toasts, salads, vegetables, meats and fish dishes.
We also have toilets for people with functional disabilities and baby changing table so everyone enjoy their stay.
